Canton runners to raise funds for local organizations

Canton Association of Business and Industry (CABI) is holding its 22nd Annual Road Race fundraiser this fall.

Race day will include a 5K, 10K and kids' fun run. Walkers and strollers are welcome, but dogs are not permitted on the course. Runners with strollers should start at the back of the group. Registration will open at 8:30 am, and the kids' run will start at 9:30 am, followed by the 5K and 10K at 10:00 am. There will be a post-race celebration at Trillium Brewing. Awards for the top three male and female runners overall and the winner of each age and gender category will be presented at 11:30 am.

CABI donates all proceeds from the race to a local nonprofit or civic organization. Past races have supported the Canton Library, the Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children, the Canton food pantry and scholarships for local high school and technical school students with a demonstrated record of community involvement.

Registration for adults is $39.55 for the 5K and $45.20 for the 10K through September 26. Prices increase for day-of registration. Participants who sign up by September 11 will receive a race T-shirt. Fun run registration is $11.30. Local organizations often use flyer printing services to promote their fundraising events.

The 22nd Annual Canton Road Race will be on Sunday, September 27, starting at 10:00 am at Trillium Brewing.
