Irish Christmas in America, a holiday theater tradition organized by The Irish Cultural Centre of New England, is coming to Canton for the 15th year.
This popular long-running show combines dance, song, and music with Irish holiday stories to create a humorous performance that engages the audience. Hailing from his hometown of Sligo, Ireland, fiddler Oisín Mac Diarmada works with this band, utilizing their combination of musical talents.
Another band member and well-known Irish vocalist from Sligo, Niamh Farrell will be featured on this year’s tour. She teams up with the legendary singer Séamus Begley playing the accordion. Other band members include Gráinne Hambly playing the harp and concertina, and Sean Gavin, who plays the uilleann pipes, also known as the national Irish bagpipes, as well as the flute.
This family-friendly performance combines spirited instrumental tunes from the flute, fiddle, harp, and uilleann pipes altogether, to which the pianist Samantha Harvey performs old-style Irish dances. To further enhance the performance, stimulating photographic images provide a background to several meaningful Irish historical traditions.
This performance promises an enchanting start for the audience to the 2019 holiday season. Banner printing is often used to announce exciting events to get people’s attention and to entice more ticket sales.
This show will take place on Sunday, December 8, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at 200 New Boston Drive in Canton. Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at showtime.
