New owners at Andover breakfast joint

The Shawsheen Luncheonette is now open again in Andover.

The former owners of the restaurant, Brian and Amy Guay, retired in August, and it was purchased by Peter Ahn of Andover. Ahn also owns two restaurants of the Bonchon Chicken chain—one in Cambridge and the other in Salem—and always wanted to own a breakfast place like the Luncheonette. He said that the Luncheonette has been an institution in the town for over 70 years, with people coming to it from the surrounding communities for many years, which is why he considers it an honor to be able to continue the tradition.

The Guays were able to assist during the transition and Ahn rehired all the staff who previously worked at the restaurant. Ahn said that the menu has also stayed the same, using the same processes and fresh ingredients. He said it was important as people who have been coming to an eatery for many years like to know they are returning to familiar food and a known atmosphere. Flyer printing can be used to highlight the menu and special features of such restaurants.

Ahn, who had fond words for the community and his customers when speaking to Andover Townsman, expressed his excitement about meeting so many of the regulars and hopes that they will continue to return as frequently as they did with the previous owners.
