An exclusive collaboration between the Andover Center for History and Culture and the North Andover Historical Society will enable the hosting of the Revolutionary History Tour Shuttle.
This unique event marks the 250th anniversary of the battle at Lexington and Concord.
This will be a bus tour that will start at the North Andover Historical Society and last for 1.5 hours. The tour will retrace the route taken by the militia through Andover and North Andover while they were on their way to the battle. Attendees will see the historical sites that existed in 1775 while experienced guides will share anecdotes and stories about local connections to the revolution.
The kitchen and dining room at the Timothy Johnson House in North Andover will be one of the stops en route. The viewing of more historic homes in Andover will follow, along with a stop for an outdoor tour at the Andover Blanchard Upton House. The bus will then return to the North Andover Historical Society.
Such unique tours are often promoted throughout a town and neighboring communities with the use of poster printing.
There will be two tours, one from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and another from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The cost is $55.00 per person, and the tours will take place on Saturday April 19.
