New electric school buses have been unveiled that will be used to transport students in the Andover School District.
Local Print shops often assist in providing more details about such initiatives and their benefits for the community.
The new buses were manufactured by NRT Bus and Trombly School Bus. The companies will be putting 10 new electric buses into operation in Massachusetts, of which Andover will receive five. This is the largest fleet of electric buses in Massachusetts. The electric buses will replace the older vehicles in the district.
Fast chargers will power the buses and will provide quiet and clean transportation for students. Superintendent of the Andover Public Schools, Dr. Magda Parvey, expressed her excitement that the students of the district will have access to these new buses. Dr. Parvey added that the district shares in the commitment of Trombly to providing sustainable and clean options for the community.
Senior vice president of operations for Trombly School Bus, Tim Sheehan, said that electric buses are important in the reduction of emissions from transportation. He added that putting these buses into service, the company will be providing a healthy and clean environment for drivers and students, and will help to reduce the carbon footprint. He also thanked the Andover Public Schools and their partners, National Grid and Highland Electric, for working together on this initiative and thereby continuing to provide high-quality service to the community.
