Louisville distillery to release decade-aged bourbon

A recent announcement by the Louisville-based Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. revealed that it is ready to release its very first 10-year-old whiskey, Kraver’s Old Reserve Bourbon.

Henry Kraver founded Kentucky Peerless in 1889, and it is in his honor that the company’s 10-year-old bourbon is dedicated. Chairman and CEO of Peerless, Roy M. “Corky” Taylor III is a fourth generation descendent of Henry Kraver. Taylor commented on the release, saying:

“This is to honor my great-grandfather. And to honor all of our employees who have done an incredible job making the whiskey and finishing the product for distribution. We have a GREAT team at Peerless.”

The Peerless Distillery says it will release its Henry Kraver’s Old Reserve Bourbon annually on its founder’s birthday, April 22. Its 10-year-old bourbon will carry a label distinct from the rest of the company’s products and there will be a one-bottle-per-person purchase limit. Labels of any type can be sourced at local Print shops.

It was just 10 years ago that Henry Kraver’s descendants revived the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. brand and since then the company has garnered praise worldwide, including its 2024 ‘World’s Best Bourbon’ at the International Wine & Spirits Competition. Batch 1 of its 10-year-old bourbon will be barrel proof, as are all of Peerless’s whiskeys. Additionally, it boasts a 117.6% proof which translates to a 58.5% ABV.

Kentucky Peerless is open to the public for tours and tastings Monday through Saturday.
