Bluegrass States biggest vegan festival on the horizon

The Louisville VegFest will return this September, with more to see and taste than ever before.

An all-vegan community-focused event, VegFest is the state’s premier celebration of everything vegan covering more than 19,000 square feet of indoor space. Formally called the Bluegrass VegFest, the Louisville VegFest will feature more than 60 vendors, a plant-based marketplace, food trucks, inspirational speakers, craft beers and cocktails, and kids’ activities. Also available will be vegan options supplied by regional restaurants, a live cooking demo, and educational exhibits.

This family-friendly festival is mostly an indoor event held in air-conditioned comfort, although some food trucks, select vendors, and extra seating will enable attendees to enjoy themselves outdoors as well.

Vendors of all sorts seize the opportunity of a festival to increase their name recognition by distributing businesses cards and small, inexpensive promotional gifts.

Although a free event, VIP Early Access tickets are available for $27.05, including the booking fee. VIP tickets include a swag bag. Ticket proceeds will be used to help keep the Louisville VegFest free for future attendees.

This event was organized by the 501(c)(3) nonprofit VegKentucky, the mission of which is to increase the accessibility of plant-based eating via food, education, and community.

Held at the Mellwood Art Center from noon until 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, there is no cost to attend.
