This event is growing in popularity and ties in with the premier event for the area, The Kentucky Derby, as it shines a light on the city’s increasing number of local breweries and the beer-loving community aficionados here. As a co-founder of Louisville Ale Trail, John Ronayne, points out:
“Before the mint julep became the popular choice at the Kentucky Derby, locally-made Kentucky Common beer held that honor.”
Expressing his take on the event, Ale Trail’s other co-founder Michael Moeller explained that the city is proud of the outstanding culinary and spirits experiences it offers, and that its current craft beer movement struggles slightly to step out of the shadow of the city’s historic beer culture.
Banner printing services help to boost excitement surrounding an event while also serving as a promotional tool.
This year there will be 27 participating breweries selling an expansive selection of special releases, as well as pint specials at a price of $5.02 during the event. By coinciding with Derby week activities, when the city’s numbers swell with visitors, it represents an opportunity to emphasis the city’s modern craft beer movement.
Also announced on Beer Appreciation Day will be October Beer Week’s theme at Shippingport Brewing. Passports for the Beer Appreciation Day event on Tuesday, May 2 can be obtained at bars, restaurants, and taprooms throughout Louisville.
