New east-west bus route to change complexion of Northern Kentucky
The Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK) has added its first east-west bus route in Northern Kentucky. The new route promises to change the complexion of the area as it traverses Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties.
The East-West Express route, also known as 35X, started running on Monday, August 4, and is an effort to make traveling via bus from county to county across Northern Kentucky more straightforward. Previously, instead of being able to take a bus directly from county to county, riders first had to take a bus to Cincinnati or Covington and then take another bus south.
According to TANK authorities, the route, which extends from Florence to Cold Spring, is expected to increase opportunities for employment, education, and shopping across the three-county area. With stops that include Crestview Hills, Fort Wright, and, perhaps the most potentially popular, Northern Kentucky University, the economy of the region will no doubt experience a change.
In turn, local merchants may need to adjust their advertising campaigns; especially those businesses located near the designated bus stops. Both businesses, as well as TANK, could benefit from the widespread distribution of flyer printing. Additionally, as is always the case when a route is added, the bus company will need to notify its brochure printer to update its printed schedules.
