Themed quintet to perform at Florence library

The Men in Black Quintet will visit a local library branch in Florence this May to give a live concert.

The Men in Black Quintet is a program created by the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra that is themed after the film franchise Men in Black. The show explores the history of brass instruments by playing notable songs such as the West Side Story Selections. Many kinds of instruments will be played at the concert, including the trombone, tuba, and trumpet. The show incorporates elements of the Men in Black franchise like using the Neuralizer on the audience.

The Kentucky Symphony Orchestra is an organization that started in 1992 as the Northern Kentucky Symphony. The band’s mission is to make classical music more accessible and attractive to those who live in Northern Kentucky and the Greater Cincinnati area. The orchestra has many subsidiary groups, including the KSO Studio Orchestra, Floodwall Jazz Quartet, and The Newport Ragtime Band. Several events are held by the organization, like Art & Anxiety and Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, & Thyme.

The quintet will visit the main branch of the Boone County Public Library on Friday, May 1st. The performance will be from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and adults are the intended audience for the show. There is no cost to see the quintet perform. Libraries that hold live concerts like this may use Print shops to make ads that let people know when their upcoming performances will take place.
