Overland Park workshop planned for young nature lovers
An Overland Park museum that supports nature-based learning has organized an activity for young learners, and it will see them lend a hand to some local feathered friends.
The Museum at Prairiefire hosts a series of activities for kids. Dubbed “Jam Sessions,” these offer hands-on learning, and in March, the focus will be on birds that can be found in the area. There are two different dates to choose from.
The kids in the workshop will learn about birds and what they eat, and they will also discover how each species has its own diet. They will find out how they can feed their feathery friends, and to help them get started, they will be invited to construct their choice of feeder from the three different types that will be covered during the class – sunflower, mixed seed and sugar water stations for hummingbirds.
Kids often enjoy learning about nature, and workshops give them a chance to do so while making new friends. A flyer printing company will be able to make sure as many as possible know about an activity, and it will have a variety of options on offer for this.
The March Jam Session schedule includes Feeding the Birds sessions on March 5 and March 10. They will both begin at 10:15 am. While it is free for members, non-members will be asked to pay $5.
