Overland Park presentation to spark interest in beekeeping

Beekeeping is a practice that dates back to ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome, and those who call Overland Park have been invited to become part of this long tradition.

The Overland Park Garden and Arboretum offers the public a variety of learning opportunities, and one of these will be focused on keeping bees for the home gardener. The founder of Kansas City Hope Garden will share their expertise, and they will also discuss why these tiny creatures matter so much.

The presenter will provide an overview of home apiary practices, helping the attendees decide if it is a good fit for them. They will find out about how, when and where to place a hive on their property, and how they can also be efficient pollinators for a variety of food and ornamental plants.

During the event, the audience can ask any questions they have, and everyone will walk away with lots of resources that may be helpful to the budding beekeeper. A brochure printing company can prepare a variety of informational materials, and these may incorporate graphs, charts, infographics and other graphic design elements.

This easy introduction to the care and keeping of bees will kick off at 10:00 am on April 6th. Tickets are $5.00 each, and the venue is located at 8909 W. 179th Street in Overland Park.
