Overland Park celebrates the Fourth

Overland Park is celebrating the upcoming Independence Day holiday with a couple of fun events.

The first of them is Celebrating the 4th at the Farm. Presented by the City of Overland Park, it will feature lots of fun activities for children of all ages. There will be plenty of old-fashioned games to play, patriotic lessons in the schoolhouse, and a chalk walk. Along with enjoying a pig calling contest, children are encouraged to dress up their bikes for a parade.

Later on that day, the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular celebration is taking place. It will have musical entertainment from State Line Drive and Noe Palma. There will also be a variety of food trucks and vendors on hand. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chair and/or blanket, and coolers are also allowed. The evening will finish off with a fireworks display beginning at 9:45 PM.

Overland Park print shops often help advertise events like this by providing products such as flyers and posters.

Celebrating the 4th at the Farm will be held at the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead on July 4 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Admission is $3 for those aged 3 and over. Call 913-897-2360 for more information.

The Overland Park Spectacular will take place at Corporate Woods Founders' Park also on July 4 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM, although a rain date of July 5 has been set for the fireworks. Contact Julia Bilyea at 913-344-8656 to learn more.
