What's Happening in Overland Park, KS…

Local gardens to host illuminating fundraiser

The Luminary Walk is taking place in Overland Park for three weekends, beginning at the end of this month.

As a fundraiser for the Friends of the Arboretum, Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will be lit up with candlelit pathways and lighted displays. There will also be live music playing at four locations, horse-drawn wagon rides, and a Children's Garden. Gnome and fairy houses will be set up along the way and there will be plenty of spots for photo opportunities. Music will be provided by several local artists, including the Carolers of Note, Elvis, Amado Espinosa, and the American Opera.

Guests will be admitted at half-hour periods to avoid overcrowding. Masks must be worn by all visitors.

In addition to the walk, there will be a Candlelight Stroll on December 3. Spanning one and a half miles, the walk is recommended for adults only. There will be no music and wine, and other adult hot beverages will be available for purchase.

Overland Park flyer printing firms frequently help to distribute advertising about events like this. Flyers can be directly mailed, handed out on the street or displayed in public buildings.

The walk will be held at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens on November 27 and 28, December 4 and 5, and December 11 and 12. Tickets are $14 for those aged 5 and over. Call 913-322-6467 to learn more.
