Fundraiser lets guests enjoy a British tradition

The Daughters of the British Empire in Kansas (DBE) are hosting their 34th annual British Faire and Tea next month in Overland Park. This is their major fundraiser of the year.

There will be four tea seatings, two of which have already sold out. Tickets for the tea are $20 each and include admission to the fair. The currently available seatings are 1:00 PM and 2:15 PM. Guests will be entertained by Marti Hall-Powers on the harp.

Admission to the fair only is $5 for adults and $1 for children between the ages of 4 and 12. It will feature musical entertainment, Celtic and Highland dancers, and a visit from the Royal Court of the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. Information booths will be set up by the DBE and other British clubs such as St. David's Welsh Society of Greater KC.

Several vendors will also be on hand to sell British-related merchandise. Other activities will include gift draws, a speakers' corner, and raffles. A children's area will provide jugglers and face painters.

Printing services companies in Overland Park are often asked to help arrange events like this by providing signage and banners to the organizers.

The fair will be held at the Abdallah Shrine Temple on November 16 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. For the most up-to-date information about this event, visit the DBE website.
