Mead Festival returns to Crown Point

The fifth annual Sugarbelt Mead Festival will be held next month in Crown Point.

Presented by the Manic Meadery in Crown Point, the event will feature products from about 20 meaderies across the nation, who will offer tastings of meads, wines, and ciders. Businesses gathering at festivals such as this often seek out professional logo design services to embellish their products.

Meads are an ancient drink also known as honey wine or hydromel. The alcoholic beverage is produced by combining fermented honey with water and other ingredients such as fruit, hops, or spices. It is not always as sweet as it sounds and can be made dry or semi-sweet and may also be carbonated.

In addition to the meads, a local brewery will offer samples to those who prefer an ale. Food trucks will be on site and there will be live music to entertain the crowd. Also, attendees can support local charities by participating in raffles.

Festival tickets will include a swag bag containing a commemorative glass and other merchandise. VIP tickets will be available for those who wish to access the event one hour ahead of general admission guests.

The Sugarbelt Mead Festival will be held on Saturday, May 17 beginning at 3:00 pm at Bulldog Park in Crown Point. The event is open to those aged 21 and over and will go ahead rain or shine.
