Crown Point expects to welcome as many as 2,000 runners to the start line in an upcoming long-standing community race.
The Hub Run 5K/2K will mark its 45th year when the starting gun is fired next month. The event is the first in a three-race series called the YMCA Triple Crown, held in three Indiana communities in support of the charity organization’s income-based scholarships.
Money raised from the runs makes it possible for the YMCA to provide funds to families for memberships and program participation. The organization offers programs and activities for all ages, including yoga, dance, team sports, and wellness initiatives.
For the runners, awards will be presented to the top male and female competitors, plus the top three in each age group in the 5K race. The elementary school with the most participants will also receive special award recognition. Early registrants will receive a race shirt and all runners will be able to enjoy the post-race party.

The 45th Annual Hub Run 5K/2K will be held on Saturday, April 11 at Bulldog Park in Crown Point beginning at 9:00 am. Runners can sign up online in advance or register in the park from 7:00 am to 8:30 am on race day.
