Aerial perfection in skies near Crown Point

The annual Gary Air show near Crown Point will include an additional day this year.

Aviators from across the US and around the world will bring their piloting talents to the show for three days of flights over the shore of Lake Michigan.

The added day will allow for an evening drone and fireworks display to kick off the weekend events.

F-18 Super Hornets will be showcased on Saturday and Sunday by the US Navy’s Rhino Demonstration Team as the versatile aircraft are carrier-based supersonic fighter jets.

Other highlights will include Mig 17 fighter jets, the Trojan Flyers and the Misty Blues Parachute Team.

As many as 200,000 people attended last year’s show, taking advantage of a range of parking and transportation options including trains, buses and shuttles.

Among this year's options will be a vintage trolley provided by the City of Crown Point which will offer rides in the area around the air show venue.

The weekend will also feature kids' events, shoreline activities, a beer garden and food vendors.

Businesses and sponsors who get involved in major events such as this regularly hire Print shops to produce flyers, Menus, tickets and other materials.

The Air Show will be held from August 21 to 23, 2026, at Marquette Park in Gary, near Crown point. Gates open at 6 pm on Friday for the drone show and at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday ahead of the 11 am aerial performances.
