For the second year, Crown Point will welcome the New Year with a ball drop celebration.
The inaugural ball drop was held last year when city officials expressed hope that it would become a signature event for the city and surrounding area. Upon the countdown to 2026, the decorated ball will be dropped from a bucket and truck, located downtown at Clark and Main Street.
Residents and visitors will also be able to enjoy music by a DJ, a beer garden, and a fireworks display. The free family event will take place regardless of the weather. Attendees are advised to dress warmly, although outdoor heaters will be provided.
While they are welcome to attend the evening festivities, children can also participate in their own year-end event. The Kids’ New Year’s Eve Party will be held in the afternoon at Bulldog Park. A $5 fee will provide access to the park and cover the cost of onsite activities. There will be face painting and four scheduled magic shows for which same-day registration is required. Adults must have a ticket and be in attendance to supervise children.

New Year festivities in Crown Point will begin with the children’s party from noon to 4:00 pm on December 31. The evening family events will be held from 10:00 pm to 1:00 am.
