Organized by the City of Crown Point, the upcoming St. Patrick's Day parade is the original evening lighted parade in Northwest Indiana.
The annual parade attracts illuminated floats, marching bands and bagpipe players, green decorated vehicles and costumed groups who join in the spirit of the Irish celebration.
Parades on St. Patrick’s Day began in the United States in the 1700s as a way for Irish immigrants to celebrate their culture. Today, parades are held across the globe, with the oldest and largest parade held in New York City. Shamrocks, leprechauns and pints of Guinness have become symbols of the much-loved celebration.
Crown Point’s parade begins near the downtown square, where this year there will be additional space for food and retail vendors. Booth will be set up on both Joliet Street and Main Street from 3 pm to 9 pm.
In past years, the city has hosted a traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage, but this year has opted instead to promote specials being offered by area restaurants.

The Crown Point St. Patrick’s Day parade will begin at dusk on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Spectators are encouraged to choose their favorite parade float and register their vote on the city's website.
