Farm fresh foods feature in Crown Point chef competition

Chefs will compete in an inaugural outdoor culinary contest next month in Crown Point.

The Whole Hog Invitational event will spotlight Indiana’s agricultural sector and celebrate the farm-to-table roots that connect farmers with restaurants and families. It is being presented by Indiana Grown, a state department of agriculture endeavour designed to bring the public together with those who grow, raise and produce food products.

Five area chefs, two of them from Crown Point, will each prepare a heritage pork meal with seasonal ingredients sourced from farmers throughout the state. One chef will be crowned the first Whole Hog Champion as voted on by the ticket holders, who will be able to taste each of the dishes.

The competition will be a family-friendly event offering live music, activities, a farmer’s market and the chance to meet the chefs, food producers and farmers. Adult guests will also receive a Whole Hog swag bag.

Sponsors often provide organizers of events such as this with Promotional Products as giveaways to be included in swag Bags.

The inaugural Whole Hog Invitational will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 5 pm to 10 pm at Bulldog Park in Crown Point. Advance tickets are available online for $49 for adults and $25 for children ages 4 to 12. Special VIP tickets, including early access at 4pm and other additional perks are $99.
