John Mellan camp tribute band makes stop in Crown Point

Mellencougar, a John Cougar Mellancamp tribute band, will be the headline act for next month’s Taste of Crown Point.

The two-day culinary festival will showcase top dishes created by Crown Point restaurants. Presented by the City of Crown Point, the event will welcome both dining establishments and food vendors to set up booths and tents on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost. 2026 marks the seventh year for the festival.

To accompany the food offerings, beer and other beverages will be available for purchase.

Mellancougar includes a group of Midwest musicians with admiration for Mellancamp’s music and lyrics. Featured songs at the performance may include Jack and Diane, Hurt So Good, Small Town and more. It’s the only tribute group that has, at times, featured musicians from the original band, including Toby Myers.

The tribute band also gives a shout out to Tom Petty with songs such as I Won’t Back Down and American Girl.

Poster printing is often used for advertising and promotion for tribute bands and artists who play at community events.

The Taste of Crown Point will be held on July 17 and 18, 2026, from 5 pm to 12 pm at the Franciscan Health Pavilion at Bulldog Park, 183 S. West St. Admission is free. Further information is available on the City of Crown Point website.
