Hot Jazz in a Cool Old Barn will be a special September concert in Crown Point. The open-air sunset performance will take place in a rustic, historic barn at the Crown Point Ecology Center.
The ecology center works, through education, advocacy and stewardship, to promote agricultural sustainability and food security. The center's property includes green space of 115 acres which provides homes for many species. The organization’s belief in environmental protection is reflected in its organic certification as the land is worked without the use of pesticides or herbicides, benefitting the nearby Lake Erie watershed. Much of the produce grown on the property is provided to food banks and pantries in the region, upholding its other mission of social justice.
Among the acres of green space is the 19th-century barn which is used as a venue for weddings, performances and other gatherings. The upcoming concert will feature the vocals of Erika Denae J and jazz stylings of the Theron Brown Trio. Non-profit groups that host concerts such as this often use printing services to promote their events.
Hot Jazz in a Cool Old Barn will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 5 to 8 pm at the Crown Point Ecology Center. The concert will be held rain or shine. Tickets and further information are available on the ecology center website.
