Crown Point cruising into summer
Classic cars and oldies music will come together in Crown Point next month to welcome Summer 2024.
The city is gearing up for its annual summer concert series, the opening night of which coincides with and complements the first car cruise of the year.
The free summer concerts start Thursday, June 6 and the first in the series aptly features 1950s music and includes a Buddy Holly tribute artist.
Visitors can step back in time and enjoy the historic vehicles at the Crown Point Car Cruise, a weekly event starting that same evening and scheduled every Thursday through until September 26.
The showcase of many classic and vintage cars will be on display at Bulldog Park. Car enthusiasts of all ages are invited to enter the park after 5:00 pm, and plenty of visitor parking is provided. There will be food vendors set up to provide refreshments throughout the evening.
For 11 Thursdays throughout the summer, area bands will perform in the concert series, often as part of another summer event such as the Taste of Crown Point, Oktoberfest, and the final car cruise of the year.
While most car cruises will be at Bulldog Park, there are a few dates that will have a different venue. Several will be held at the Crown Antique Mall and others at Wittenburg Village senior living community. Poster printing to promote events like this could be provided by a local printing company.
