Celebrating the past at Crown Point festival

Farming heritage will be celebrated at the 40th annual Crown Point Vintage Tractor and Farm Festival.

Demonstrations, vehicle and equipment displays plus farm-related activities for the whole family are on the agenda throughout the three-day event, which is presented by the South Lake County Agricultural Historical Society.

The Society is an organization that shares the history of agricultural practices and knowledge through education and its motto of "Harvesting the Past, Planting the Future."

The festival will offer a large display of antique cars, trucks and tractors and this year is highlighting steam traction engines. Demonstrations will include a working saw mill, corn shelling and shredding, wheat threshing and bailing, and a buzz saw. The crowds will also be entertained by the skills of woodcarvers, beekeepers and blacksmiths.

Kids entertainment includes pony rides, a petting zoo, model trains, a barrel ride and a playground. The Cedar Lake Farmer's Market, a swap meet and numerous food and refreshment vendors are among the other festival attractions.

Exhibitors at these types of shows often choose to have flyer printing done by a professional Print shop to help advertise their products and pricing.

The farm and tractor festival is July 12-14, 2024 at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Crown Point. Show hours are from 9am to 9pm Friday and Saturday and 9am to 4pm Sunday. Limited camping is available on site.
