Upcoming exhibition highlights unique sculptor

The exhibition ‘Benjamin Entner: Ego Sum’ will be showing at the Moraine Valley Community College and Performing Art Center's Robert F. De Caprio Art Gallery, starting early next month.

The artist creates inflatable sculptures based on his drawings, which focus on contemporary models posing as classical Greco-Roman and Renaissance sculptures. Some of the works he has parodied include Michelangelo's David and Hermes and the Infant Dionysus, which was found in the ruins of the Temple of Hera.

There will be an opening reception held on January 15 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 PM pm. This will include a talk by the artist himself at 3:30 pm. No doubt members of the public will want to meet the artist and to find out his motivations for choosing the genre of art he did.

This exhibit may attract visitors from all over the region, including Orland Park. In order to publicize upcoming art events, organizers often contact local postcard printing companies. Postcards are frequently used to advertise exhibitions since they give a large surface in which to include an example of the art work.

‘Benjamin Entner: Ego Sum’ is showing at the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery from January 5 to February 5. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 pm - 4:30 pm each day. To find out more about this or other upcoming exhibitions, call 708-974-5500.
