The Village of Orland Park is paying homage to the American Legion’s 100 years of service by producing vehicle stickers that can be bought online.
The stickers went on sale yesterday. People who have previously bought stickers will receive applications for the new ones in the mail. The graphic design for them will feature ‘The American Legion’ written on them, with ‘100 years’ written underneath in yellow. People who do not receive application Forms for the stickers can apply for them online at the village’s website.
The Village of Orland Park is encouraging residents to order the stickers online because ongoing construction at the village hall will make it difficult to collect and apply for the stickers in person. Every vehicle registered to a Village of Orland Park address is required to display a current sticker. Residents who purchase their stickers later than June 30, 2019 will incur late fees.
The stickers must be displayed on the lower right-hand corner of windshields. Stickers for motorcycles and passenger cars will cost $30. Senior citizens can buy their tickets at discounted prices. Each household is limited to a maximum of two senior stickers.
The American Legion was officially founded in 1919 in France. It was started by the American Expeditionary Forces and the US Congress chartered it in September of the same year.
