Orland Park to host annual souper bowl

The fourth annual Souper Bowl Challenge will be taking place in Orland Park next month.

Attendees will be able to try a wide range of soups and cast their vote for their favorite soup. This event will help local soup kitchens and the youth in the town with support of the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation. Such events and their fundraising and charitable efforts are often promoted throughout a town with poster printing.

There will be four categories for which to vote. The first is the Rookie category for those between 12 and 54 years old. The second is the Public Service Pro Bowlers for government, education, emergency services employees, and others in related fields. The third is for seniors 55 years of age and older, while the last category is for individuals with a culinary degree or certificate, including local restaurants.

Supervisor of the town, Paul O’Grady, is encouraging all residents to attend. He said the soups will be prepared by great chefs and there will be raffles, music, and prizes.

The Souper Bowl Challenge will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, February 11 at Orland Township on S. Ravinia Avenue. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens and $5 for children five years of age and older, while children under the age of five are admitted free of charge.
