Orland Park is giving residents an evening of celebration to welcome the most festive time of the year in late November.
The event combines a Tree Lighting, Parade, and Festival. The parade will lead off the festivities, running between 45 minutes and an hour depending on how many entrants there are. The festival will begin right after the parade draws to a close. This will include a light display on the grass, a market with vendors selling food, crafts, and other seasonal items, as well as some live music and entertainment. Santa is even making an appearance to join in on the fun.
Kids up to the age of 10 can also take part in a contest all about coloring. By going to the event’s page on Orland Park’s website, parents can find the page to Print out and give to their kids. Once the children color it, the work must be dropped off at one of several locations also listed on the page before noon on the 22nd of November. The top three will be given a prize.
The tree lighting will take place in the Village Hall Circle, which attendees are encouraged to go and watch. The town’s official holiday tree will come to life with the lights adding a seasonal charm to the atmosphere.
Admission to the Civic Center-based celebration is free. Flyer printing is a common and efficient way for towns/cities to bring awareness to their events. The parade kicks off at 4:00pm, and the tree lighting will follow at 5:00pm after some of the festival, which will then continue until 6:30pm on November 26th.
