What's Happening in Libertyville, IL…

New exhibition opens at Libertyville museum

A unique exhibition will be available for viewing at the Bess Bower Dunn Museum located in Libertyville, and it will be open until September.

The exhibition draws inspiration from both the museum's own collections and from other historical organizations in Lake County. It delves into the various racing events and venues that have taken place in the area. Among the highlights of the exhibit are artifacts and photographs showcasing boats being raced, harness racing, motor racing, and runners taking part in Lake County Races and 5Ks, among other forms of racing.

Nan Buckardt, the Director of Education, put out a press release that said:

“Nothing compares to the thrill of the race. We hope museum visitors are exhilarated when they experience the new exhibition.”

Within the exhibit, visitors can view videos of previous races and participate in an interactive derby track designed for children. There is also a stationary race car constructed by the museum's designers. Brochure printing can be used to advertise exhibits like this.

The Dunn Museum hosts special exhibitions that may either be traveling exhibits put together by touring companies from around the country, or the product of the hard work and expertise of the staff at the Dunn Museum. "Ready, Set, Go! Lake County's Racing History" falls into the latter category, as it was curated and designed by the museum's own staff.
