What's Happening in Libertyville, IL…

Holiday classic comes to life over radio in Libertyville

An iconic holiday film will be brought to a live audience in Libertyville through a unique medium next month, offering families a chance to create lasting memories together.

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play will take the stage, courtesy of Improv Playhouse, to keep a family tradition alive with a 75-minute performance of the iconic film starring James Stewart. The production will unfold as a 1940s Live Radio play, giving the audience a look at what vintage studio broadcasts were like during a bygone era.

The setting will be completed with period-accurate commercials, onstage microphones, and live sound effects. A cast of nine actors will bring all of the film’s characters to life to accompany the Foley sound effects. Poster printing is a proven way to promote shows and movies, with designs that accommodate images that grab attention and text that shares information with each passerby.

The show is suitable for interested parties of all ages. There will be no intermission period during the 75-minute performance. Attendees who arrive early will have the opportunity to take a photo with Santa in Bedford Falls to commemorate the experience.

The performance will premiere at 130 Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, on Friday, December 12th, at 7:30 PM. Seating is first-come, first-served. The doors open at 7:00, and general admission tickets are $29 for adults and $18 for children online.
