Improv Playhouse provides new classes

The Libertyville location of Improv Playhouse has unveiled its new Advanced Improvisation Program.

According to a news release, the program features an extensive and vibrant curriculum tailored to enhance the abilities of adults in the performing arts and those aspiring to become improvisers. It aims to nurture their development within a supportive and imaginative atmosphere.

The Advanced Improvisation Program is structured into six levels, with each level comprising six weeks of training. Students are expected to devote two hours to every class. In the classes, they will explore the nuances that come with comedic structure, scene building, character development, and improvisation. Corporate Gifts such as plaques can be given to exceptional students.

The program is designed for individuals who possess a solid improvisation background and are enthusiastic about advancing their abilities to the next tier. The Improv Playhouse Training Center already previously had adult classes in film and stage acting along with improvisation training however this program represents a significant step forward in training opportunities.

The artistic director and founder of Improv Playhouse, David Brian Stuart, said in a statement that he was “incredibly excited” about the launch.

One notable feature of the program is the inclusion of classic sketch analysis, allowing students to delve into the study and examination of iconic sketches. This approach enables them to acquire a more profound comprehension of satirical styles and various genres.
