Evanston class to offer introduction to sewing

Many people find they learn best through hands-on methods, and the attendees in an Evanston class will discover how fun and easy it can be to work with a needle and thread.

Students who take part in the activity will learn the basics of hand and machine sewing, and at the end of the workshop, they will walk away with a completed tote they made themselves. It is designed to be a starting off point for future projects, and both Norris University students and the general public are encouraged to sign up.

The session will see the registrants learn how to thread a sewing machine, as well as choosing the proper needle and stitch type for their piece they are working on. The hope is everyone will have fun crafting and also have a chance to meet other community members at the same time. The price to reserve a seat starts at $37.

People who take part in learning activities may want to keep on going once the class has drawn to a close. Additional educational materials can be prepared by a printing services company.

Morris University Center, which can be found at 1999 Campus Drive in Evanston, will be offering this opportunity to learn the basics of working with a needle and thread on Saturday, February 25. It will start at 10:00 am.
