Evanston YMCA plans special celebration

An Evanston institution is set to celebrate 140 years of serving its home community, and the party will be open to all those age 21 and up.

The McGaw YMCA will be wishing itself a “happy birthday” when it hosts its Y140 Party, which is being presented by Northwestern University. Limited to those age 21 and up, it will take place in the evening hours.

The three hours of fun, which will also serve as a fundraiser, will include a variety of bites and signature cocktails, and everyone can meet new friends and catch up with old ones. The music will be from a variety of genres from across the decades the YMCA has been open, and to add a special touch, complimentary valet parking will be on offer. The suggested attire ranges from red carpet worthy to simple sneakers and jeans, and tickets are $200 each.

Party planners may be tasked with choosing suitable decor that is also budget friendly. A banner printing company can provide a range of options at various price points.

The McGaw YMCA is set to celebrate 140 years of serving as a community hub on Saturday, January 24. It will be held at 1000 Grove Street, and tickets may be purchased through its Patch listing, which also provides more details. The contact email for the organizers is give@mcgawymca.org.
