University event to get to grips with AI
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) has announced a free lecture on machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) taking place next month.
The event will be a lecture from Dr. Bill Luan, a SIUE alumnus who currently works for Google. Specifically, Dr. Luan is a senior program manager with the tech giant, working with its Coral AI team.
As an expert programmer and industry leader in AI and machine learning, Dr. Luan will discuss where both of these technological platforms are heading, what the differences are between them, and how each may impact our everyday lives. Specifically, Dr. Luan will discuss the revolutionary impact of both platforms, predicting that it could have an even greater effect than the advent of the personal computer.
The event, meant to help people get a better understanding of the impacts that these technologies will have on society, will be held on Thursday, March 16, at 7:30 pm. It will be held in Durham Hall on SIUE campus. Tickets are free, but registration is necessary and can be arranged by visiting the event listing or calling 618-650-2626.
For more information on this lecture and others, individuals are encouraged to keep an eye on SIUE’s website. When arranging events, campuses will often head to flyer printing companies to raise publicity about them throughout the premises.
