Endurance run brings best to Edwardsville

Endurance runners in Edwardsville and the surrounding area will want to start training for a running event that has announced an August start date in town.

The Watershed Endurance 6Hr/3Hr Runs are opening registration online to runners who want to challenge themselves and push their physical abilities in a peaceful setting. Organizers have created a 3-hour and 6-hour timed run, with participants in both traversing a 1-mile path through the host park.

Registered participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk the course, and hydration and snack breaks are encouraged as needed between loops. The primary goal of competitors is to determine the number of laps they can do in the allotted time. Promotional resources like banner printing are an excellent fit at races like this, giving organizers a memorable finish line that doubles as visibility for the event and its sponsors.

Due to the trail’s size, the runs are limited to 120 participants. Both runs will end at midnight, and participants will need to bring and wear a headlamp, waistlamp, or carry a light after the sun goes down. Awards will be handed out to the top two finishers in each group.

The Watershed Nature Center in Edwardsville will host the endurance run, which is scheduled for Saturday, August 8th, starting at 6:15 PM. Registration costs $45 for the 3-hour run, and $65 for the 6-hour run online.
