Bluesman to play Edwardsville
An outstanding blues master will appear in Edwardsville.
Jeremiah Johnson was born and raised in St. Louis and began playing guitar when he was still a teen. He gravitated toward jazz in college and later moved on to rock, but then began to appreciate the blues when he heard it played by blues experts in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis. In 2011, he won the St. Louis Blues Society International Blues Challenge.
Johnson has had the satisfaction of seeing his albums appear on the Billboard Blues Chart. His 2015 effort, “Grind,” peaked at No. 8 on the chart, and “Blues Heart Attack,” which he released in 2016, hit No. 5. In 2020, he dropped “Heavens to Betsy,” which debuted at No. 3 before climbing to the top of the chart.

Amanda Fish opens for Johnson. She is a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and blues singer, also from St. Louis. Her album “Free,” which she released in 2018, and won the title of “Best Emerging Artist Album” at the 40th Blues Music Awards. Brochure printing can be used to create creative programs for events like this.
The concert, which is rescheduled from an earlier date, is set for August 19 at 7.30 pm at the Wildey Theatre. Tickets for the original performance will be honored at this performance.

“Jeremiah Johnson delivers biting blues rock with his commanding guitar attack bolstered by his hearty pipes and a crack backing band.”
