Teri Steinburg will co-host a workshop in planning and training called PATH and MAPS: Person-Centered Ways to Build Community in the Highland Park and Deerfield area.
The topic is Planning Alternative Tomorrows with Hope, or PATH, and Making Action Plans, or MAPS. These concepts aid in simplifying personal plans and creating achievable goals. They allow formal plans to focus on the individual while taking advantage of the resources available to allow them to life their best life.
The workshop will span three days. Participants should report to the Schamburg Township Building at 1 Illinois Boulevard, Room 310.
The seminar is geared toward everyone who works with mental health issues regularly, such as people with disabilities and mental illnesses, their family and friends, case managers, life coaches, therapists, teachers, and advocates. It counts for 18 units in Continuing Professional Development (CDPU) or Continuing Education Opportunities (CEU).
The Illinois Association of Microboards and Cooperatives (IAMC) is the other co-host of the workshop. IAMC educates, advocates, supplies technical information, and training. The organization's mission is to promote quality of life for people with disabilities. It also advocates for communities to value them.
The cost to attend for mental health educators earning CPDUs and CEUs is $700 before April 1 and $770 after April 1. Organizations pay $550 before April 1 or $600 after. Individuals with no organizational ties pay $400.
The PATH and MAPS workshop with take place April 28 to 30 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Brochure printing gives highlights of detailed information from seminars that guests can take home as reminders of what they have learned.
