The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is to begin installing new Signs on the interstate highways near Champaign.
IDOT officials said crews will put up new permanent message signs on I-57, I-72, and I-74. Delays of 15 minutes or less are anticipated.
The first spot is I-57 southbound, two miles north of Market Street. Work was scheduled to run from 10:00 pm August 31 to 6:00 am September 1.
The second location is on I-74, three miles to the west of the St. Joseph interchange. Work is scheduled for 10:00 pm September 1 to 5:00 am September 2.
The third location is I-57, three miles south of Monticello Road, northbound. Work here begins at 10:00 pm September 2 and ends at 6:00 am September 3.
Fourth is I-72 eastbound, two miles to the east of the interchange with IL-47. Work goes from 8:00 pm September 3 to 6:00 am September 4.
The final spot is on I-74, this time eastbound, to the east of the interchange with IL-47. Work starts at 10:00 pm September 3 and winds up at 6:00 am September 4.
Champaign and IDOT officials might consider working with a flyer printing company on a mailer that lists the times, dates, and locations of the work, and also lists alternate routes.Get a Free Quote for Signs
