Champaign gardeners get scoop on seed starting

Thrifty gardeners know that starting seeds at home can help to make their budget stretch, and a Champaign area workshop will teach them how to do so.

The organizers of the Seed Starting Workshop that will be held at Sola Gratia Farm will be getting expert advice about successfully growing their own seed starts. It will cover herbs, vegetable and flower seeds, and there are two session start times to choose from.

The registrants in the session, which will be held in the venue’s greenhouse, will gain hands-on experience by preparing their own seed starts using the materials provided, and they will be able to take them home with them at the end of the class. The workshops will both run for one hour, and the registration fee is $20.00 per person. It's part of the venue’s Grow More Good Series, and the start times are 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm.

Many gardeners appreciate the chance to learn some new techniques to add to their own personal toolkit, and a workshop offers this experience. Copies of handouts for an activity can be prepared by Stationery printers, and can incorporate pictures and other graphic elements.

Sola Farm Greenhouse will be welcoming a new crop of seed starters for these workshops on March 14th. The start times are 2:00 pm and 3:20 pm.
