Champaign venue celebrates Pollinator Week

When people think of pollinators, honeybees often come to mind, but a special Champaign activity will introduce the rest of the crew.

In late June. The Scratching Post will be celebrating Pollinator Week with an assortment of activities. Everyone can learn how to lend pollinators a helping hand, and all ages are invited to drop by.

The venue will be supplying information about various bees, with native species such as bumblebees, digger bees, and carpenter bees on the list. Beetles, birds, and bats will be discussed as well, and everyone can learn about how they are vital for both humans and the natural world. Catmint seed will be distributed for as long as supplies last.

Along with the rest of the fun, there will be pollinator-related games and volunteers on hand from the University of Illinois Extension Office to answer questions about pollinators, gardening, and other relevant topics. It will be $5 to play a game, and this may be paid upon arrival. Themed Promotional Products to hand out during an activity can be ordered from local Print shops.

The Scratching Post will be giving pollinators a tip of the hat on Wednesday, June 24 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Everyone is invited to stop by and find out how they can lend them a helping hand, and the Scratching Post is located at 114 E University Avenue.
