A conference discussing everything about grain is coming to Champaign.
The Organic Grain Conference will allow panelists and presenters to share information on the latest research, certification, transition, marketing, and production of organic grains. The conference is important to growers because of the increasing demand for organic grain. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, since 2012, sales of organic commodities have doubled, and the demand continues to grow.
The conference will allow attendees to hear about the latest in their industry through presentations and information exchange. The first day of the conference includes a mixer, a trade show, time for networking, and full-day workshops. There is one confirmed workshop thus far - a presentation on certification for organic growers entitled “Navigating the Organic Certification Process,” presented by Mark Seeley.
The second day’s schedule will include the conference’s keynote address, and breakout sessions scheduled to run on three tracks concurrently. There will be a number of roundtable discussions and panels, as well as more time for networking. The trade show will also continue.
The I Hotel and Conference Center on South 1st Street in Champaign is the venue for the conference, which is scheduled for February 5 and 6. The hours on February 5 are 9:00 am until 6:30 pm, and on February 6 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Banner printing can provide retractable Banners for use at conferences like this.
