A Champaign activity will work to make the public more aware of the issue of homelessness, and also what they can do to help.
The One Winter Night event will be marking its 11th year, and it will once again be held at the CU at 51 East Main Street, and there are several ways for both local residents and the corporate community to get involved. The fundraiser will be used to help provide shelter and supports for the city’s homeless, and all assistance will be appreciated.
The public can participate by either making a donation or choosing to spend a night out in the cold in the way homeless people do every night. It will take place at the coldest time of the year, and members of law enforcement, local government officials, business leaders, students, and many others have all taken on the challenge in previous years. Each person who chooses to spend the night in a box is asked to commit to raise $1,000.
A variety of local businesses have already added their name to the list of sponsors for the event, and the Logo Design of each can be found on its website. The registration system for the fundraiser is now open.
