Champaign library offers household financial series

Building financial stability is a goal for many, and a Champaign workshop series may help provide a road map for the way ahead.

The Money Matter$ series is a set of six workshops that will each focus on a different aspect of personal finance. They will be on offer at the Douglas Branch Library, and each runs for one hour.

The sessions will be guided by Michelle Stallmeyer, who is an area Community Banking Manager with knowledge of credit, housing and financial capability. The topics addressed range from budgeting to mortgages, credit scores and debt management. The attendees can gather information, ask questions and use what they have learned right away, and anyone who would like to take part but requires an accessibility accommodation is asked to make contact. The initiative is being hosted thanks to assistance from Busey Bank, and each instalment will begin at 6:00 pm.

Workshops make it possible to deliver a lot of information to a target audience in a small amount of time. A printing services company can lend a hand by preparing handouts, visual learning aids and other materials.

The next instalment of the Money Matter$ series will be held on June 26th, and it will also be offered on July 10th, 24th, August 14th and August 28th. The program is intended for adults, and the library is located at 504 E Grove Street.
