Through a program known as CDA "Re-Leaf", the City of Coeur d'Alene is providing free street tree planting at residential sites within areas that are classified as public right-of-way inside the city's limits.
According to the city, trees are to be planted at no expense to homeowners in order to improve neighborhoods and offer numerous street-side advantages, including stormwater mitigation and pollution reduction.
Homeowners who are prepared to care for the trees—by watering them and shielding them from mowers and trimmers—will receive trees. Among the remaining tree species available for selection are Spring Snow Crabapple, Forest Pansy Redbud, Crimson Spire Oak, and Chanticleer Pear.
Homeowners who are interested can reach out to the Urban Forester operating at the Coeur d'Alene Parks Department to register for a street tree. There are only so many trees available for the program which means that the trees will go to those who apply first.
The deadline to submit an application for this program is March 21st. A contracted tree-planting crew will begin planting the trees in April. Logo Design is often used to help teams identify each other.
