InConvenience Inc., a convenience store in Davenport, has received a state grant from Choose Iowa to expand access to food and drinks made in the state. This funding will make it the retailer that is first in the city to carry Country View Dairy products.
An amount of $9,190 was awarded as a cost-share grant to create a section of products grown in Iowa at the convenience store on W. Locust Street. Half of the cost for the project will be covered by this grant.
At InConvenience Inc. there will be a self-serve island cooler that will feature products made in Iowa such as yogurt and milk from Country View Dairy and beer from Field Day Brewing in North Liberty. Local Print shops can also get involved in providing more details about such products and their origins with Flyers, Booklets, and other printed materials.
CEO of InConvenience Inc., Tiffany Fraley, said that now when they buy a gallon of milk or grab a local beer, they are now supporting the local economy, their neighbors, and those who work hard every day to ensure items are being produced and delivered.
InConvenience Inc. was selected by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship as one of 30 winners of the Choose Iowa Value-Added Grants. The vision of Choose Iowa is to connect produce and food products from Iowa with consumers and to expand markets for farmers in Iowa.
