Newnan writer ready for latest publication

Terry Conrad’s third novel, “The Idealist,” is complete and ready for publication.

Conrad is an author who grew up in Cleveland and now lives in Newnan. During his formative years, he read plenty of “The Hardy Boys” Books and he says that those stories had a big influence on how he writes his novels now.

Publishers often like to hold book launches that feature banner printing in order to promote a new title.

Conrad has lived in Newnan for just over two years. He worked as an accountant and during his spare time, he has been writing novels.

When asked about his latest novel, he said:

“When I initially started writing it, it was about four years ago. So part of what prompted it was the political scene that we had in our country, that’s still going on even today.”

According to Conrad, themes from real-life characters involved in politics have influenced the development of his characters. He believes that “The Idealist” is his way of expressing his political beliefs in a fictional form.

The book is about Trevor Backe, who decides that the best way forward is for him to create his own political party. As the book progresses, it highlights the difficulties he goes through while creating a third party and convincing people to vote for it.
