The Mableton Improvement Coalition (MIC), a non-profit community advocacy group, will be hosting the first Taste of Mableton this weekend. The festival will be an all-day event to take place at the Mable House Complex in Mableton.
Banner printing is often used to promote such a special day throughout a community.
Kicking off the event will be a parade designed to showcase the community in a fun and inclusive way. There will be music, floats, and people who reflect the many cultures of Mableton. Jeff Padgett will be the Grand Marshall and will be accompanied by Roy Barnes, former governor of Georgia and a Mableton native.
There will also be a Talent Showcase that will feature local artistic expressions, with performances including dancing, signing, acting, and reading poetry. There will also be the Education Hall of Fame, which will honor and recognize the students, teachers, and alumni of the town’s schools and highlight school-specific accomplishments.
Fun Town will deliver an action-packed experience for kids and adults alike. There will be a Community Art Project in which students from the elementary schools will create a custom square representing their perspective on the community. This will be assembled into one large panel to be on display at the Mable House Complex.
Taste of Mableton will take place from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm tomorrow, April 2.
