West Palm Beach park to undergo major redevelopment

Extensive renovations will be taking place at Currie Park in West Palm Beach.

This is part of the Currie Park Redevelopment Project that will cost the city $35,5 million. The parking lot and the boat ramps will be closed but the tennis courts and sidewalks will still be open. The tennis courts will be accessible from Flagler Drive.

The goal of the renovations is to modernize Currie Park, which is on North Flagler Drive. This is part of the Currie Corridor in the Northwood/Pleasant City District of the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) of the city. The ground had been broken on the project earlier in the spring so that the docks could remain open during the summer and for Labor Day weekend.

Funding for the project is made possible through several sources. Among these are a grant of $16.7 million from the Florida Department of Commerce, the 2020 Parks Bond, and grants from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Housing and Urban Development, the Florida Department of State, and contributions from the CRA.

The contractor for the project is West Construction. Local Print shops can use Flyers and other printed materials to provide more detailed information about the project and its renovations.

The new facilities for the boat ramp and the redesigned park are expected to be completed by the spring of 2027.
