Reopening date revealed for Historic Center

The Tampa Bay Historic Center is scheduled to reopen its museum and the Columbia Café.

Patrons wishing to visit the museum located at 801 Water St. will be required to go online and buy a ticket in advance. Certain safety measures will be in place, such as restricting the number of people and how long they can spend in the museum, and some ‘hands-on’ exhibitions will not be available at first.

The museum’s CEO, C.J Roberts, said :

“We understand we’re offering a modified experience. To offset that, and to welcome our community back, we’re temporarily reducing our admission fees. We’re proud to continue [our] mission on June 1st when we reopen our galleries.”

Several of the museum’s educational exhibitions are on hold, but the museum has been working on delivering more online content since it closed in March. The Historic Center’s website also has lesson plans posted as well as activities for students and teachers alike. Virtual tours of the exhibits are available for those who miss seeing the exhibitions. A few spots are available for a summer camp the Historic Center will be hosting in July.

Tickets, likely featuring the organizer’s Logo Design, will have timed entries and they can be purchased at $12.95 for adults as of today (May 22). Children aged six and under can enter free of charge. As Roberts mentions, doors reopen on June 1st.
